I met Ian at the boat ramp at 7:30am & it was 28 degrees. The 1st couple of hours I spent most of the time with my hands in pockets rubbing hand warmers in attempts to keep from losing them due to frostbite . The wind was blowing out of the east around 10-15 mph & it was miserable. Once the wind subsided, we had one of my best days on Lake Monticello. We caught approx 40 Blacks & most were 3lbs or larger Below is a photo of Ian & an average size fish for the day.

Here's the best fish for the day, a 7lb 4oz sow

Ian with a 6lb 15oz black beauty
It turned out to be a GREAT day on the water despite the brutal cold conditions in the AM (Next time, I'll wait until around 10 or 11 to go)
